Developing Pastoral Loyalism.

DEVELOP PASTORAL LOYALISM – THE REAL WAY FORWARD IN 2013

Former Blanket columnist and Unionist commentator, DR JOHN COULTER, maintains that 2013 should see the Christian Churches set up to the mark and develop Pastoral Loyalism to help the beleaguered Protestant working classes.

The Christian Churches in Northern Ireland have a moral and spiritual duty to develop the concept of Pastoral Loyalism within the Protestant working class.

The flags debate has effectively lifted the lid on the existence of an extensive loyalist underclass which has been festering since 1998 and the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.

Brian Rowan on Protests.

Once again Brian Rowan the self-appointed de-commissioner of UVF arms and Volunteers has raised his head above the parapet.( for financial reward as usual. )  In his latest thinly veiled  attack on the Loyalist Working Class, published in the 27th of December edition of the Belfast Telegraph, Rowan accuses Billy Hutchinson of using the Loyalist Working Class National Flag protest as a manoeuvre, to put the PUP back on the political stage.

Peace..But At What Price?

The Irish News in their Friday 21st, edition, have printed an article written by their token Prod Roy Garland, attacking the democratic right of the Loyalist Working Class to peacefully protest against the removal of the Democratically selected National Flag of Northern Ireland,  from the City Hall in the Capital City of Northern Ireland.     In his attack Roy Garland uses the same old underhand tactic,( in reverse gear) that was used repeatedly by The Grand Old Duke of York against the Loyalist Working Class in the past.

Upsetting the IRA/DUP Applecart.

The Working Class loyalist flag protesters, who are on the verge of upsetting the undemocratic, gerrymandered, totally unrepresentative IRA/DUP apple cart up at Stormont, must not allow their popular democratic campaign in defence of the democratically chosen National Flag of Northern Ireland, to be nullified or usurped by the failed Grand Old Duke of Yorkers, and Fur coat Unionist politicians who have betrayed our trust repeatedly in the past.          These never, never, never treacherous imposters, must be peacefully forced to withdraw from the Stormont Charade thereby causing its collapse.          The deliberately undemocratic refusal by the IRA/SDLP/Alliance coalition to participate in legitimate discussions, on the flying of the National Standard at Stormont, the National Seat of Government in Northern Ireland, renders the present Assembly deliberately bigoted, sectarian, and totally unfit to continue in its present form.          After the collapse of the present assembly, there should be an immediate Northern Ireland Referendum, on a straight forward Union with Great Britain, or United Ireland basis.  Followed by a properly democratic first past the post election of a properly democratic assembly.    The undisputed National Standard of the democratically selected Nation, would then be able to fly without dispute from all Government buildings and the perpetually whinging little Irelanders would be left without a legitimate leg to stand on.

Where Now-The No Surrender Men?

Another biting article from regular contributor, Charlie Freel.  In recent days we have once again seen the true colours of our so called representatives.  It seems that the old practice of working class Protestants being led by the snouts by unscrupulous politicians is still very much on the agenda.

Wanted Immediately-United Northern Ireland Loyalists.

WANTED IMMEDIATELY, UNITED NORTHERN IRELAND LOYALISTS.

In the early days of this site, the question was asked, define loyalist.  The unchallenged reply was as follows.   A Northern Ireland Loyalist is someone who is prepared to defend, by use of force if necessary the democratically expressed right of the population of Northern Ireland, to decide their own destiny, even if he or she does not agree with that destiny.

Flag Protests–Who Is to Blame?

The actions of the many disgruntled Unionists who have taken to the streets over the past week need to be looked at in the context of how things have been moving politically in Northern Ireland.

Undoubtedly the Republican PR machine led by Sinn Fein has been in overdrive for a long time now. Declan Kearney reaching out the hand of friendship to Unionist, asking for wee quiet fireside chats. Remember Gerry talking about his Unionist brothers and sister? The headlines made by Niall when he was Mayor and visited the bottom of the Shankill as one of his first engagements. Martin McGuiness hand in hand with his bedfellow Peter Robinson condemning armed Republican actions. The examples go on and on. Yes they have been milking any and every opportunity to look like the great peacemakers.

The PUP,the People, and the Politics of Unarmed Resistance.

This article, written by BRIAN ROWAN, fist appeared on EAMONN MALLIE’S website on November 20th.

It was one of those jump out lines, found on the Official PUP twitter account; a couple of sentences that tell the story of a continuing struggle for hearts and minds inside a section of the loyalist community.

It read: “Restructured, Prepared and Ready for ‘Unarmed Resistance’. Let’s do it for the people.”

I asked what it meant, and this was the response: “Simple – politics is the way forward …we all need to travel that road.”

The PUP is aligned with the UVF and, recently, the leaders of both Billy Hutchinson and John Graham sat in the same workshop at a conference that discussed progress in a conflict transformation project specific to this section of the loyalist community.

More than five years have passed since the leadership of the UVF set a target of “civilianisation” as a public statement that its ‘war’ was over.

Loyalists Left Out In The Cold

The Irish Daily Star’s Northern Political Columnist, DR JOHN COULTER, maintains that the main Unionist parties must bring the loyalist community in from the political cold if they are to undo the flags debacle caused by the Alliance Party.
