The Rest of the World are Liars.

This week’s Andersonstown News makes a very interesting read.  In this edition of the paper, a paper in which many neutrals could be excused for thinking it is an extension of republican rag An Phoblact, Gerry Adams TD has once again been suffering from his selective amnesia symptoms regarding the recent sectarian I.R.A campaign.

   In his article ‘a moment to remember and reflect’ Mr Adams, (the only civilian ever to be in the I.R.A) was in his old West Belfast constituency to remember his old pal and fellow terrorist Joe McDonnell who was sent to his death by the republican leadership in 1981in the greatest ever mass assisted suicide ever to be seen.   

In his selective memory he recalls how in 1981 British soldiers and R.U.C men attacked the funerals of the hunger strikers firing plastic bullets indiscriminately at the mourners, funny how he doesn’t mention on the night Bobby Sands starved himself to death how his comrades killed a popular local milkman along with his 14 year old son carrying out their duty to both communities in North Belfast.  Adams and his cronies at the time would argue that milkmen were legitimate military targets; many beg to differ.

The Sinn Fein victim’s mentality played out in Adams article is plain to see as his usual tactic, blame everyone but ourselves, it is still as hard to swallow as it was at the height of the troubles.  He fails to mention the attacks, bombings, killings and the maiming of innocent individuals during this time all for the betterment of driving the British into the sea.  After thinking I had heard it all from the bearded one he really excels himself on further reading of this clap trap.  His mind wanders as he passes Casement Park, the same Casement Park where he explains two British Soldiers ATTACKED an I.R.A funeral in 1988!! Now that certainly wasn’t the scenes beamed around the world by Television crews who were filming that day.  For those who don’t know two British Army corporals mistakenly drove into the cortege while driving around in Belfast and the scenes that followed showed republicans act like a baying pack of wolves hunting their prey, pulling them from their car and executing them without mercy in full view of the world’s media.

Gerry’s article would have been better entitled ‘a moment to forget and deflect’.   What was also interesting in the death notices of the paper was the fact that one notice was placed in memory of the volunteers of the Belfast brigade who no doubt had blood on their hands while another memoriam was placed for West Belfast catholic Caroline Mooreland who was murdered by the same Belfast Brigade I.R.A for allegedly being a British spy.  Such hypocrisy. 

The hardest thing for many in the P.U.L community is Sinn Fein continue to lie and twist the past for no other reason than to cleanse themselves of any wrongdoing, we must continue to highlight articles like this to the Protestant community and indeed the wider world.  These people were nothing but sectarian, Protestant hating, religious bigots, contrary to the Sinn Fein spiel.  Last week saw the anniversary of Bloody Friday in which 21 bombs were placed around Belfast and surrounding area, not one a military target, one of the most frightening, heinous acts of the troubles which killed men, women and children and maimed many others for life.  The footage shows police and army personnel literally shovelling body parts into plastic bags for the coroner, a stomach churning sight for even the most cold hearted.  Funny how no republican was available for comment regarding the programme.  The silence was deafening, shown up as bloodthirsty killers of both Protestant and Catholics and not the freedom fighters which they laud themselves.  40 odd years on and still no closure for the families of the loved ones lost that day and still no justice, even though Brendan Hughes, a former commander in ‘D Company’ Belfast brigade, I.R.A has stated that Gerry Adams WAS Officer Commanding the Provisional movement during that era.  How? Why? We have all asked the same questions – the biggest question of all must go to our main stream, flag waving, big wig Unionist politicians on the hill -Why are they not highlighting these issues at the very heart of the British Government on behalf of their constituencies? 

Too many are prepared to sit back and complain about the content of such articles without speaking out or challenging these people with hard facts.  This website is the very tool for such challenges if no one will speak for us then we must speak for ourselves.
