Ask My Mate Marty If I’m A Liar.

ASK MY MATE MARTY IF I’M A LIAR.

They have to be the funniest comedy duo since, Stan and Ollie.  Peter and Marty were at their pompously belligerent best, as they farcically attempted to justify their ludicrous decision to retain the ugly eyesore H-Block and equally ugly Prison Hospital at Long Kesh, as tourist attractions in the interests of their sham peace and non existing reconciliation pact.

Peter— red faced and with eyes bulging, nearly burst all his blood vessels in his bumbling efforts to assure us all that, his new mate Marty and the IRA, don’t really want the H Block and the hospital to become a memorial to the IRA hunger strikers.   Marty,  equally red faced and sweating, blustered and bleathered, without ever actually confirming Peters ludicrous statement.
It was hilarious to witness the totally discredited leader of the totally discredited, Never, Never, Never, Grand Old Duke of Yorkers, defending the aspirations of the IRA, in the face of opposition from The innocent Victims of terrorism, the RUC, the Prison Service, the PUP, UVF/RHC  Ex- Loyalist Prisoners and all the other Unionist Parties.
It is therefore pretty obvious to everyone except the comically belligerent, Stan and Ollie that, if the remainder of Long Kesh  isn’t bulldozed, then the only people participating in their farcical  Sham-Peace and non- existing reconciliation centre, will be the Never,  Never, Never DUP and  the Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie, IRA.

Republicans Need A New Drill Instructor: John Coulter

Republicans should get some new drill instructors

(John Coulter, Irish Daily Star)

The notorious Ardoyne Dander by dissident republicans over Easter has got to be one of the most embarrassing episodes in nationalist history.

What was supposed to be a dignified commemoration to four dead Fianna members turned into a public relations disaster.

This was NOT because of children on parade in supposed paramilitary gear – it was because republicans proved they physically cannot march.

I am a former staff sergeant in the Christian Boys’ Brigade movement where drill was a compulsory part of parade nights. I passed BB exams in square-bashing and I know how to march.

What we witnessed in the Ardoyne was not competent drilling, but a pathetic dander along the road where many of the so-called marchers were out of step with an inability to use their arms.

Can A Man With A Beard Tell A Bare Faced Lie?

Apocryphal: of questionable authenticity…( Oxford English Dictionary ).

The difficulty is that the more lies you tell the harder it is to stop.  And when you have honed and mastered that skill over many years the task becomes nigh on impossible.  Gerry Adams is quite adept at telling lies.  He does so on a regular basis and has perfected the Art of doing so with a relatively straight face.  His porkies are of legendary status  The list is lengthy..His non membership of the IRA–his non involvement in the many instances of the Disappeared, in particular that of housewife Jean McConville–and the little white one about the message that never came from Thatcher–a note that could have saved the lives of six Hunger strikers in 1981.  And not to disappoint he has come off with his latest.  And as Frank Carson might have said–” It’s a cracker”!!
The Sinn Fein president has been giving evidence in the trial of his younger brother Liam who has been accused of sexually abusing his daughter Aine when she was a child.  Gerry at various stages during the trial has claimed that he had no knowledge of conversations that took place between him and the girls mother–that he never said he would have hit his brother with a hammer if the allegations were true–he claimed that he had a problem with “exact timelines”–and he refuted the suggestion that he had contacted the PSNI on the matter in 2007 in order to save his political career.  Note.  Not that he didnt have a problem in giving information to the Police whenever it suited him.  How ironic is this when he was involved in many cases of disappearing innocent Catholics whose crime was giving information to the RUC.
And this is the man who as recently as last week in an article for the Irish News is urging us to invest in a Truth and Reconciliation process to help heal the wounds of the past!!

” Nobody speaks the truth when there’s something they must have”.

Loyalists Should Get Behind PUP.

Wouldn’t’ it be fantastic if the huge crowds that turned out on Saturday to remember and give thanks for our glorious past, could be encouraged to put as much time, effort, money and enthusiasm into fighting for a glorious future for the Loyalist Working class, by immediately mobilising in support of the PUP under the honest and sincere leadership of Billy Hutchinson.

And as for Craigavon House, where better to house a Loyalist Museum to commemorate the Volunteers of the early nineteen hundreds and the Volunteers of the seventies.

As for the so called unnamed, supposed leading figures from the UVF/RHC, who the Belfast Telegraph claims are supportive of Jackie McDonalds wish, to be part of the farcical peace and reconciliation centre, that is to sit alongside the republican shrine to terrorism at Long Kesh— I would say —think again.

I am still personally in contact with many of the old former prisoner Volunteers of the early seventies, and they are unanimous in their opinion that the entire Long Kesh site should be bulldozed to the ground.    To retain any part of it to satisfy the IRA, would be an absolute insult to the memory of the thousands of innocent victims of the conflict and to the memory of our own fallen Volunteers.

This so-called peace, which the DUP/IRA partnership, claim we should be so thankful for, is in reality nothing more than a temporary sham peace as far as the IRA are concerned.  As for genuine reconciliation, it has proved to be totally nonexistent in the real  language and behaviour of Republicanism.

FLAGS AND THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION: CHARLIE FREEL

Once again the devious Alliance Party supporting Belfast Telegraph, has used a front page spread to excuse the expected treacherous behaviour of the Alliance Party.

This time with regard to the permanent flying of the National Standard, at the Cenotaph in the Garden Of Rememberance at Belfast City Hall.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, The Royal British Legion has asked to be left out of the Flag storm, on the grounds that it does not wish the Garden of Rememberance to be used as a political football, despite the fact that the Republican Movement have been using the Poppy and the Garden of Rememberance, as political footballs, ever since their inception.

As usual instead of respecting this totally membership un-mandated request from  The British Legion, the Belfast Telegraph has deliberately published a front page, banner headline story 18/4/13, claiming that the Royal British Legion objects to and rejects the proposal to fly the National Standard at the Cenotaph.

By their actions, whoever issued this totally un-mandated objection and the Belfast Telegraph, both, have deliberately dragged the Royal British Legion into the very controversy, which the un-named objector is allegedly trying to avoid.

If the Belfast Telegraphs allegation is true, then I, as an ex-Royal Ulster Rifleman and an ex- Royal Irish Ranger, demand to know, by whose authority was this totally un-mandated objection made, because it has not been proposed to, seconded, or passed by the grassroots ex-British Servicemen or Service Women of Northern Ireland.

The perpetually whingeing, insatiable Republicans of the IRA/SinnFein/SDLP, who are notorious for their hatred of everything British, except the money and the social benefits, have now been joined on Belfast City Council by the white-feathered, woolly headed, peace at any price Alliance Party.

These political parasites have absolutely no moral understanding, of the reverential  importance of the National Standard, to British Servicemen and women.  In past battles it has often been the pivotal inspirational rallying point, where victory has been snatched from the jaws of impending defeat, by the inspiration, courage and loyalty it instils.

In defeat it is the very last weapon to be surrendered, which I suspect is the real reason why the IRA/Sinn Fein/SDLP/Alliance Parties, on Belfast City Council are so obsessed with its removal.

The ACT Initiative – Greater Shankill

Greater Shankill ACT, Grave Maintenance Project

The ACT Initiative is very much about looking to the future and developing communities, but we must also remember the past and the sacrifices and hardships made by many in defence of the Loyalist community and our place within the United Kingdom. Read more »

Republicans should remember Thatcher’s contribution to Peace.

This piece first appeared on www.openunionism.com

Sammy McNally is an itinerant Fenian scribbler… and a fictional prod character bestowed upon us by James Young. He has previously written for other blogs such as BangorDub, Three Thousand Versts and Slugger O’Toole. He describes his politics as “Republican lite”.

It is highly likely that Margaret Thatcher’s name will crop up at the Sinn Fein Ard Fheis, but highly unlikely that any pleasant words will be uttered by any delegates and even less likely that Gerry et al will mention that part of her legacy – support for low corporation tax – that has made its way into SF economic policy.

What will be discussed, of course, will be the hunger strikes, and as someone who supported the hunger strikers I think it fair to say that even from Thatcher’s point of view (which was more or less the same as the majority of Unionist opinion) –. that the hunger strikers had to be defeated and isolated as ‘terrorists’ rather than reconciled  – her policy failed, and the fall out arguably turned SF into a credible political force which in turn perhaps inevitably and eventually led them into government in Northern Ireland.

But Thatcher, the bête noire of Irish republicans, also signed the Anglo-Irish Agreement, which arguably made peace possible years later. On reflection Nationalists, and indeed Unionists and Irish Republicans, should give her credit for that (although perhaps not publicly). Just as with David Trimble years later with the Good Friday Agreement, Thatcher did the necessary ‘heavy lifting’.

She was a formidable and principled political opponent to Irish republicanism who sought to defend her ‘own’ country against a determined ‘insurgency’ and she played a significant role, both intentionally an unintentionally, in bringing about what seems to have turned out as ‘peace’. She should be viewed in that considered perspective, rather than through the lens of emotional self-indulgence which is bring so over-used by her opponents and detractors.

When we move off Ireland to Britain and the economy, the levels of hypocrisy from trendy, lefty bandwagon-ing ‘socialists’ sitting pretty in post-Thatcher Britain is running on overdrive as they seek to vilify her at the same time as hypocritical Tories (who stabbed her in the back) seek to deify her. It seems there is little chance of Thatcher’s legacy being considered simply on its merits.

So far, a quality debate. Not.

Roy Garland: Irish News:What Agenda?

Once again Roy Garland the fifth columnist of Unionism, has raised his head above the Alliance party parapet to denigrate the Loyalist Working Class, for the satisfaction of his gluttonous Republican audience.

By means of his column this week in the Irish News, 12/4/13, he likens the behaviour of the defenders of the National Standard, to the behaviour displayed by the IRA terrorists and Republicans who recently fired a volley of shots beside a Republican mural, and paraded very young Children as mini IRA terrorists.

He denigrates Ruth Patterson, for having the honesty to remind the IRA representatives on Belfast City Council of the IRAs sordid, murderous past.

He praises the woolly headed Alliance party, for producing another one of their totally predictable head in the sand amendments of appeasement, in support of their Republican partners on the council, who had refused to respectfully mark, the barbaric slaughter of the two British corporals David Howes and Derek Woods.

This is the same woolly headed Alliance party, which recently supported the rainbow coloured lighting up of the city hall, to celebrate the flaunting of homosexual behaviour.

It is the same woolly headed Alliance party, which then bizarrely opposed the lighting up of the City Hall on Rememberance day, in honour of the Soldiers who sacrificed their lives to ensure the defeat of Hitler and Nazi Germany. Thereby ensuring that homosexuals would be free to flaunt their homosexuality, without fear of execution.

He questions Christopher Stalford for having the honesty and moral decency to distinguish between, the totally innocent victims of terrorism and victims of their own indiscriminate terrorist activities and support of terrorism.     Roy Garland suggests that, the Loyalists who democratically defied the belligerent British Government in 1912, by unanimously supporting and signing the Ulster Covenant in defence of the democratic right of the Ulster People, to decide their own future, were just as guilty of illegality as the indiscriminate murdering terrorists, who  have sought to usurp democracy by barbaric slaughter.

He then finish’s his attack with a plug for his preferred method of election, the wishy washy , if, possibly, maybe, depends what way the winds blowing, Modified Borda Count, as an alternative to decent, honest, straight forward democracy.

This would then of course mean that, the self-righteous elitists of the Alliance party and Roy Girvan could just ignore the results, when they fail to  correspond with their own self-righteous minority opinion of what we, who they consider to be the ignorant Loyalist Working Class lowest common denominators,  really should have voted for.      Which is exactly the attitude they adopted when, the Modified Borda Count system which was used by the Equality Commission with regard to the Flying of the National Standard, resulted in overwhelming support for the status quo.

Sensible Socialism to move the PUL Community Forward.

In his latest chapter on the ideology of New Loyalism, former Blanket columnist and Radical Unionist commentator, DR JOHN COULTER, outlines his principles of sensible socialism as a basis to move the PUL community forward.

If New Loyalism is to give constructive leadership to the Protestant/Unionist/Loyalist (PUL) community, then it must adopt the policy of sensible socialism.

Likewise, New Loyalism cannot afford to limit itself to the Protestant working class. Like the Loyal Orders, New Loyalism must expand well beyond the urban loyalist housing estates and into the Unionist middle and upper classes.

Strategy-wise, New Loyalism must accomplish within the PUL community what Provisional Sinn Fein has achieved within the Catholic community. To eclipse the moderate nationalist SDLP, Provisional Sinn Fein rebranded itself as the voice of ‘responsible republicanism’, fooling tens of thousands of traditional middle class SDLP Catholic voters that it was a party of peace rather than the apologists for ‘an IRA war’.
