THE GRAND OLD DUKE OF YORK—AND US.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you remember Sixty Four? Were you there?<\/p>\n

In the big man\u2019s agitation, did you share?<\/p>\n

Did you converge on Divis Street, from the North, West, South or East?<\/p>\n

Did you obey the Grand Old Duke, were you there?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To remove that bloody treacherous rag, he called us out.<\/p>\n

He pledged it would not fly, old Ulster\u2019s laws to flout.<\/p>\n

But while we marched on Divis Street, the enemy to meet.<\/p>\n

The Grand Old Duke stopped short, outside the City Hall.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We were all disowned next day, as he washed his hands.<\/p>\n

He declared riots in Divis Street, were not his plan.<\/p>\n

He claimed to have made a simple call, to protest at City Hall,<\/p>\n

And then march us all, back down the hill again.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0And again and again and yet again.<\/p>\n

Until that bloodstained treacherous old rag, finally earned him all the power he craved.<\/p>\n
