The Men Behind The Ire<\/strong><\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t it strange to be reading and hearing of the many republicans who feel as if they have been shafted by the modern day Provisional\/Sinn Fein.\u00a0 Accusations levelled at SF include\u2014misleading the general Nationalist population\u2014selling out\u2014becoming West Brits under Stormont\u2019s roof\u2014all adding up to the allegations of treason. \u00a0\u00a0Gerry Adams and his cohorts are blamed for leading their constituents and followers a merry dance and basically using them for their own selfish ends.\u00a0 How ironic is this?\u00a0 Over forty years ago many young men from the Loyalist working classes\u00a0were duped by their vociferous sabre rattling representatives who marched the masses right to the top of the hill–but luckily remained at the bottom themselves.\u00a0 The moniker\u2014The Grand Old Duke of York\u2014was duly bestowed upon\u00a0one of those most actively involved in this practice.<\/p>\n

The Men Behind The Ire<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They stood on high to pontificate
\nAnd decreed to lead us forth
\nWith their jingoistic mandates
\nCharted a considered course.<\/p>\n

Dog collared\u2014or policies in hand
\nAt ease in lording masses
\nDeceitful, devious scheming plans
\nTo command the under classes.<\/p>\n

Disdain, contempt and disregard
\nCondescending to the lower grades
\nEmpty rhetoric the guarantee
\nThat would lead to our own Hades.<\/p>\n

Stirring oratories help
\nTo compel the common man
\nAnd gives them moral permit
\nTo support the Masters\u2019 plan<\/p>\n

They swore to fight—to go to war
\nUntil all OUR blood was done
\nTo battle and to lead the way
\nAnd boldly lead us on.<\/p>\n

And lead us on they did and more
\nDown a bloody path of no return
\nToo late we realise the artifice
\nA valuable lesson slowly learned.<\/p>\n

No bars around those Ivory Towers
\nNo guards to keep them there
\nNo loss of freedom for those cowards
\nJust contempt beyond compare.<\/p>\n

Duplicitous knaves escaped their fate
\n—-And refuse yet to explain
\nOf how they deceived a generation
\nWith their deadly immoral games.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
